What is Color Guard?
Color guard is a co-ed activity comprised of students from all grade levels (9-12) that uses flags, rifles, sabers, and other props, along with dance movements choreographed to the music of the Marching Spartans as well as contemporary music. Members get the opportunity to perform at the home football games, three marching band competitions, parades, and school assemblies.
What if I've never done Color Guard before?
That’s okay! Anyone interested in the performing arts can excel in the color guard program! Many different backgrounds can meld together to become one performing unit. Our team this past year consisted of students with backgrounds in Ice Skating, Dancing, Cheerleading, Acting, Music, Speech, and various other performing entities. So, all types of people are welcome to try out! |
