For the second time, Carly Meyer has been recognized by the Illinois High School Musical Theatre Awards (IHSMTA) program for her performance in a high school production.
In 2020 IHSMTA awarded Meyer for her role as ‘Miss Honey’ in Matilda. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic all submissions were viewed only by video. Over 200 people submitted to the competition and 24 received recognition.
Meyer won ‘Best Actress’ back in 2017 for her role ‘Hodel’ in Fiddler On The Roof and was a best actress nominee back in 2018 for her role as Ariel in The Little Mermaid.
Meyer currently attends the University of Michigan and studies musical theater.
IHSMTA is part of ‘Broadway in Chicago’ and has been recognizing high school students for their performances and musicals since 2012.
