Basketball shootout raises funds for medical research
The GBN girls basketball program recently hosted a shootout competition to raise funds to “smash SMARD1.”
 
Disney artist recalls Spartan experience
GBN alumnus Jason Grandt, creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering, has been living his dream job for the past 20 years. He leads a team of artists and designers responsible for designing and building all of The Walt Disney Company theme park attractions, resort and cruise line experiences. 
Alumnus, radio host shares international knowledge

About 20 clubs and organizations recently came together Nov. 6 for International Education Night at Glenbrook North. The night was intended to allow students to expand their global perspective, explore internationally-focused learning opportunities, and network with people who share similar interests. 

 

Women in Business Breakfast promotes networking skills

This is the first full year that Glenbrook North has had a Women in Business club, and what a year it has been.

“We get together regularly to talk about all sorts of initiatives, including fundraisers to help women buy business clothes during difficult times,” senior Keena Du said. 

Alum returns to showcase student talent
Glenbrook North alum Jake Prizant (‘13) has been devoting his time to the stage since second grade. Thanks to involvement in local productions, acting camps, school musicals, and ultimately studying acting at in Boston, Mass., his performing career has grown as he has.
 
Students foster community conversations

Glenbrook North sophomore Praajna Jain was perched on the edge of her seat, waiting on stage as a crowd of nearly 90 community members gathered to hear her speak. 

Northbrook chiropractor visits Spartan Medical Club

Awaking from a medically induced coma at age 26, Dr. John Wascow wasn’t sure what he would do with the rest of his life – but he knew he wanted to help people.

The Northbrook chiropractor visited Spartan Medical Club students October 25 at Glenbrook North. 

Alumni continue to grow novelty sock business
It’s been nine years since Michael Elyash was in Mr. Keeler’s Spanish class at Glenbrook North, and a lot has changed since then.
Engineering students visit molding technology corporation
GBN Project Lead The Way students recently visited Rogan Molding Technologies in Northbrook. The students toured the facility, met with managers and molding specialists, and learned more about careers in the industry.
Glenbrooks focus on student wellness
The District engaged in a targeted strategic planning process during the 2015-16 school year, centering on the themes of academics and student wellness.  
Distinguished Teacher award goes to Dr. Greenstein

This year’s Glenbrook North Parents’ Association Distinguished Teacher Award was given to Dr. Michael Greenstein on May 26.

Greenstein, a Spartan alumnus, started working at GBN in 2009. He is a social studies and debate teacher, and is also the head coach for the school debate team. 

Collins named 2017 Distinguished Alumnus

Renowned Spartan athlete and Northwestern University boys basketball coach Chris Collins was honored May 26 as this year’s Glenbrook North Distinguished Alumnus.
