Testing Accommodations Information


College Board Testing Accommodations

 

1. Go to the College Board website and read the accommodations guidelines:
http://www.collegeboard.org/students-with-disabilities


2. Obtain the accommodations packet, including the Consent form and Datasheet from Kerri Newburger (Testing Accommodations Coordinator-Student Services Department).


3. All Accommodations Applicants:
Complete the consent form and data sheet.
Identify and copy any additional documentation not currently in student’s file (i.e., doctor’s letters indicating your child’s need for accommodations, educational testing results and recommendations, former 504 Plans or IEPs from middle school or grade school, letters from tutors indicating the needs of the student, etc.)
We will provide the current IEP, 504 or OAP and supporting documents on file.
Submit forms and any additional documentation to Kerri Newburger, Student Services Department, by the deadlines provided below.

5. Decision: 
Accommodations for all PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams are reviewed and granted by the College Board, not Glenbrook North High School. A notification will be emailed home if you have created an account with College Board and included your email. If not it will be mailed home by College Board.

6. If your IEP, OAP or 504 testing accommodations are updated, you must notify Kerri Newburger, Testing Accommodations Coordinator. College Board will need to review additional accommodations. 

 

ACT Testing Accommodations

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU REGISTER FOR ACT IF YOU NEED ACCOMMODATIONS!
  1. Obtain the accommodations packet which includes the Consent form and Datasheet from Kerri Newburger (Testing Accommodations Coordinator-Student Services Department).

  2. Go to www.actstudent.org to create an account and register for the test.  Pay attention to the following question, "Do you need accommodations to access this test?" Make sure to check, "Yes." To review accommodations checklist before submitting:
    Once you have completed the online process, you will receive an email that you need to forward to Kerri Newburger at knewburger@glenbrook225.org.

  3. All Accommodations Applicants:

    If the student has already taken the ACT with approved accommodations, you can  sign up online for additional tests dates. You will then need to send a confirmation of registration email to Kerri Newburger.

  5. Decision:
    Accommodations for all ACT Exams are reviewed and granted by ACT, not Glenbrook North High School. An email notification from the GBN Testing Coordinator will be sent to the family including ACT’s decision letter.

  6. If your IEP, OAP or 504 testing accommodations are updated, you must notify Kerri Newburger, Testing Accommodations Coordinator. ACT will need to review additional accommodations.
