Cultural and Identity Awareness Clubs
Glenbrook North’s Cultural and Identity Awareness Clubs offer an inclusive environment for students to participate in shared experiences and open dialogue to understand and appreciate the unique cultural backgrounds and identities that make up the school community.
By actively engaging in various activities and discussions, the clubs promote unity and harmony by providing valuable insight into different cultures, traditions and perspectives.

The GBN Black Student Union (GBN-BSU) is a cultural club that aims to spark discussion and awareness about issues affecting the African American community. Our goal is to provide a safe space for students to learn about and explore different perspectives and diverse stories that make up American society.
The GSA is a social and social action club whose goals are: awareness, visibility, and action. Our mission is to improve the quality of acceptance and awareness at GBN for all students & make it a safe place both emotionally & physically for all students regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. GSA is open to all students.
The Hellenic Club is a student-sponsored club, open to all. The focus of the club revolves around developing an appreciation for the Greek Culture. The Hellenic Club stresses a relaxed atmosphere, which is geared towards a fun experience for all. Activities include charity projects, movies, cultural discussions, and excursions such as dinner at a Greek restaurant, among other pursuits.
The purpose of the Irish heritage club is to unite students from all ethnic backgrounds to learn and celebrate Irish culture. Our goal is for students to meet new friends within the GBN community while helping support charities. The Irish club will provide a fun, safe, and welcoming place for students to explore Irish culture.
The purpose of the Pan-Asian Student Society is to allow Glenbrook North students the opportunity to learn more about the diverse array of Asian cultural traditions and to facilitate an appreciation for both the connections as well as the uniqueness that East, Central, and South Asian students represent.
The Slavic Culture Club exists for the purpose of not only uniting those who are already part of the Slavic Culture to connect to their roots and with their fellow students but also to become more aware of all the different and fascinating Slavic cultures. Anyone who wishes to join is welcome.
South Asian Student Association (SASA) is a club meant to recognize and celebrate different South Asian identities. SASA will host informative and fun cultural events and other activities that are open to all students. Join to appreciate and learn more about diverse South Asian cultures!
Unidos is a club that focuses on bringing together Glenbrook North’s Latino and Hispanic communities. Our meetings consist of ice breakers, games, movies, and long-term projects revolving around Latino culture.
The World Languages Honor Society at GBN strives to promote the study of all languages offered here on our campus both within the classroom and beyond. Society members understand that language is a means of connecting persons of different origins and backgrounds. The society aims to recognize high scholastic achievement and linguistic proficiency in the study of world languages, create connections through the celebration of culture and foster global citizenship within our student body.
