Instructional Supervisor of Mathematics
Dr. Maria J Vasilopoulos
Dr. Maria J Vasilopoulos serves as the Instructional Supervisor of the Mathematics Department. She earned her B.A. in Mathematics from Northwestern University, her M.S.Ed. in School Administration from Northwestern University, and her Doctoral degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Educational Psychology from Loyola University. With over 25 years of experience in education, she continues to serve the Glenbrook community with her vast skill set and expertise.
Dr. Vasilopoulos came to Glenbrook North High School after serving for 13 years as the Mathematics Division Head for Grades 6-12 for the Barrington school district. Prior to that appointment, she served as a math teacher and Department Chair at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, IL.
She has served as an adjunct professor for both National-Louis University and Northwestern University, serves as Chairperson of the North and Northwest Suburban Math Chairs, and is an active member and presenter of several professional organizations. She is a member of Northwestern University’s Council of 100, is a published author, and lives in Northbrook with her husband and two children.
