• Applications for attending this November's Operation Snowball retreat are now available! Check your school email for details on completing the online application and other information.  Don't miss out on this great opportunity to have fun and make some new connections!  Applications are due Monday, October 12th.  

• Spartans, Homecoming is coming fast! Ticket sales end tomorrow, October 7th—both online through the fee payment system and in the bookstore. After tomorrow, your only chance to buy a ticket is at the door for $40. Keep in mind, guest tickets cannot be purchased at the door and require an approved guest form beforehand. Tickets are $25 with an Activity Pass, and $30 without, or for guests. Reminder: no heeled shoes, string bags, or backpacks are allowed at the dance. Don’t miss out on one of the best nights of the year!

• Auditions for the Variety Show Vocal Ensemble will be on Wednesday, October 14th, at 3:30 PM in the Choir Room. Audition materials will be posted on the GBN webpage. Questions? See Mrs. Nichols.

• Auditions for the Variety Show Dance Ensemble will be on Sunday, October 18th, at 11 AM in the Dance Studio. Audition combinations will be posted on the GBN webpage starting October 13th. Questions? Reach out to gbnvshow@glenbrook225.org

• Want to act in a fast-paced, high-energy show? Auditions for Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind—30 plays in 60 minutes—are Monday, October 12th from 4-6pm in the Drama Room! 

• What the HECKA? GBN DECA will be meeting in the library after school on Thursday to practice live notetaking and roleplays. Make sure you have paid your DECA dues and submitted your membership contract. The deadline is October 9th. 

• Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 7th, Lost in Space: Anything But a Backpack Day! Bring your books and gear in anything except a standard backpack. Just remember the rules: items must be school-appropriate, non-living, able to fit under or beside your desk, and you must be able to carry it by yourself—no stolen items like shopping carts allowed! Don't forget to stop by the courtyard at lunch tomorrow for Galaxy Slime!

• Mind Matters is meeting this Thursday, October 8th, at 7:30 in Room F215. We will be planning fun events to celebrate World Mental Health Day and making decorations for the homecoming parade. All are welcome!  

• Do you enjoy making friends, planning fun activities, and working with students of all abilities? Come join Friends and Company! Our next meeting is Thursday, October 8th, at 3:30 p.m. in Room F-113. Come learn more, share your ideas, and help us create fun and inclusive activities for everyone! We’d love to see you there! 

• Attention students: all vehicles parked in the north lot must be moved by 5:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is not optional. The lot is needed for scheduled activities on those days, and every car has to be out by 5:15 sharp. Please plan ahead: if you drive, make sure your keys are with you, and your schedule allows you to move your car on time. Thank you for your cooperation.

• Discuss and analyze current events, sports, politics and much more at this Thursday's Current Events club meeting immediately after school in Room A116.

• Looking for a relaxing and fun way to spend your lunch period TODAY? Join us for our Create and Connect lunch.  This week, we will be in the in library classroom, across the hall from our normal location.  We'll have our usual arts and crafts supplies, legos, games and a fun, low-stress atmosphere where you can take a break from your school day.  So bring your lunch and join us in the library classroom.  All students are welcome!  

• Did you know that the Relay for Life Club has raised over $100,000 for the American Cancer Society in the last three years? It's true, and we're hoping this year can be bigger and better than ever! So, do you want to join the Relay for Life club and help in their continued fight against cancer? Do you want to help local survivors, and make a difference in your local community? Then come to the Relay for Life meeting this Wednesday at 7 PM! It’s not too late to join us in the fight! If you cannot make it but want to join, please reach out to Mr. Dolnick!

• Get ready for Day 2 of Spirit Week tomorrow, Tuesday, October 6th—it’s Spartan Jam day! Dress up by repping your favorite sports team or musical artist. Then head out to the courtyard during lunch for music and games! Show off your favorite team gear and music style tomorrow, Spartans!

• If you want to be involved in paint the town, make sure to join Spartan service club on Monday after school, we will be meeting at Greaters. Also, be sure to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, October 6th, at 7:20 am in Room A142 to start decorating for the golf cart parade. Hope to see you there!

Plus, during lunch on Monday, check out the Soul & Smoke BBQ food truck right outside the cafeteria doors! Get your outfits ready and let’s launch into a great week!

• Today, we are celebrating National Custodian Staff Appreciation Day!  We would like to recognize our hardworking custodial and maintenance crews.  Thank you for keeping us safe, healthy, and organized.  If you see one of our custodial or maintenance team members today, don't hesitate to let them know they are appreciated.

• Today is Wednesday, and you know what they're saying? Wednesday is the new MUN-day! Glenbrook North's Model United Nations club meets again today after school in Room A117a, and all students are welcome to join us. In Model United Nations, students compete at schools and universities across the state; they debate global issues, practice diplomacy, and collaborate with peers to solve real world problems. The competition season starts this week, but it is not too late to join the team and compete at our upcoming conferences! If you cannot make the meeting but want to join the team, reach out to Mr. Dolnick or Ms. Halloran!
