Important Dates

Date Location Event
August 7, 2024 GBN Students and parents may begin to pick up parking permits and instructional materials from the bookstore. This includes Chromebooks for freshmen and transfer students.
August 9, 2024 at 4 p.m. PowerSchool Courses schedules available in PowerSchool.
August 12, 2024 GBN IHSA fall sports begin
August 19, 2024 GBN Freshmen orientation
August 22, 2024 at 8 a.m. GBN First day of school - green day

 

First Day Checklist

  • Enroll and register
  • Submit required health documents
  • Pay student fees
    • Option to purchase bus pass
  • Download your student ID
  • Pick up instructional materials from bookstore
  • Attend an orientation (if applicable)
  • Purchase an optional activity pass

Complete Registration

Returning Students

Students that have attended a Glenbrook High School in the prior year, and are simply confirming their intent to return in the fall.

Transfer Students

High school students that are currently enrolled in another high school, and will be attending a Glenbrook High School in the future.

Rising 9th Graders

Students that were in eighth grade during the 2023-24 school year will be attending a Glenbrook High School during the 2024-25 school year.

Pay Student Fees

Student Fees

Student fees are not part of registration and can be paid in-person through the Bookstore or online through e~Funds.

Student Financial Assistance Program

Our student financial assistance program includes free and reduced-price meals and additional financial support to those eligible.

Services

Bus Services

Bus transportation is provided by Safeway to families that purchase an annual bus pass. Bus routes and stops are created using the addresses of students that purchase bus passes. Late Activity Buses are available on school days.

Bookstore

Glenbrook High School District 225 has entered into a partnership with Beck’s Bookstore to support the students and staff of our schools. The bookstore is overseen by the District’s Business Services department, in partnership with the school leadership teams at Glenbrook North and South.

Food Services

Our unique partnership with Quest Food features a variety of meal options for all to enjoy. Learn about how to manage student accounts, different meal options and cafeteria expectations.

Calendar

We provide a convenient, one-page calendar, commonly referred to as “Year at a Glance” calendar, that highlights important dates such as holidays, vacations and non-attendance days.

Standardized Test and Testing Services

Testing Services provides testing accommodations for qualified students and testing preparation for standardized exams including the PSAT, SAT, and ACT. We also assess students for AP courses.

Class and Bell Schedule

We operate on a Blue and Gold regular day block schedule divided into 4 periods and 3 staggered lunch periods. Other schedules include Late Arrival, Two Assembly and Three Assembly.

Students Get Involved

Athletics

The Athletics program at GBN helps students develop leadership and collaboration skills, as well as focus and determination, in and out of the classroom. Our Athletic Training program provides comprehensive health care for all GBS student athletes.

Activities & Arts

Glenbrook North High School is proud to offer over 100 clubs and organizations with a wide range of opportunities within the four A’s: Activities, Arts, Athletics, and Academics.

Families Get Involved

Parents' Association

The GBN Parents' Association fosters a supportive parent community dedicated to advancing the school's goals through communication, collaboration, and recognition of outstanding achievements among students, faculty, and administration. Together, we strive to promote parent education, encourage active participation in school activities, and fulfill the school's mission for a thriving educational environment.

GBN Booster Club

The GBN Booster Club is the sole fundraising group supporting the Glenbrook North High School (GBN) Athletic Department. Together with the Athletic Director and Assistant Athletic Directors, we promote school spirit and fund athletic programs, facilities and equipment beyond the department’s annual budget.

Band Parents' Organization

The Glenbrook North Band Parent Organization (GBN BPO) is made up of parents of students in any aspect of the band program at GBN.

Choir & Theatre Patrons Organization

The ​GBN Choir & Theatre Patrons Organization is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the expansion, support, and engagement of the Glenbrook North High School Choir and Theatre community. We raise money to support our mission through membership dues, fundraisers, and concession stand sales at performances.

Glenbrook Symphony Orchestra

The Symphony Orchestra Organization, led by a Board of Directors and parent volunteers, is a nonprofit organization that supports Glenbrook North and South orchestra students.

The Glenbrook Foundation

The Glenbrook High School Foundation provides resources that enhance and enrich educational experiences for all students in the school district.

Grad Night

Grad Night’s mission since its inception over 30 years ago is to keep our students and entire community safe on historically, a very dangerous night. We do this by providing a free, all inclusive, “lock-in” event the evening of graduation.
